Hightower sits about one day’s march from Tol Dun. The tower is as ancient as it is huge. It is thousands (perhaps more) feet high, made of blocks of stone that are easily ten-foot cubes. Some structural pieces are larger yet; they would be giant to a giant. No one knows who built the tower, but they were probably very big. Each floor is one simple room with stairs that continually wind around the outside. A typical room is 60’ high, and 250’ across. Nothing remains of the builders, no marks, only perfectly worked smooth stone.
Now the building is occupied by a group of sages. They occupy the bottom few floors, and have built library and other such facilities so that they can live comfortably in there. They have assembled a formidable library, probably one of the largest in the world, and there is no subject that they do not have an expert thinking about. The cost for a consultation is at minimum one text.
